Dinner and Wine Tasting at Central Café
20:00-22:00
Price: 40 EUR
When the Central Café opened its doors in 1887, it quickly became a popular meeting place of painters, architects, sculptors, journalists, theatre people, photographers, musicians, art historians, doctors, and university teachers. It was central in more than name to the cultural and intellectual life of Budapest and, even, all of Hungary, throughout its storied years, hosting a roster of historical intellectual figures who met here often to discuss ideas and plan artistic and intellectual endeavors. In 1949, in the year of nationalization, the Central was closed, becoming a succession of socialist eateries. More than 50 years later, this cultural treasure reopened its doors in its old splendor. Join us for a meal accompanied by wines chosen and introduced by Central Café’s own sommelier.
