The future of business education has received attention for more than two decades, however, recent mounting interest dwarfed this attention. With diminishing demand for traditional MBA programs, changing students’ interests, as well as quickly evolving technologies many schools have responded by offering alternative options. This interactive panel of experienced academic administrators and program directors will touch on the viability of MBA programs, the shifting focus towards certificate programs including micro-certificates, the need for program customization and standardization, the role of accreditation, and more.

Dilip Chhajed is Associate Dean for Online Programs and Strategic Innovations at Krannert School of Management, Purdue University. Prior to joining Krannert, Dr. Chhajed was Professor of Information, Operations, Supply Chain and Analytics in the Gies College of Business at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. At the University of Illinois, he has been Associate Head and Executive Director of Masters Programs in the Department of Business Administration.
Dilip Chhajed earned his PhD at Purdue University, MS from UT-Dallas and B. Tech from IIT Bombay. His current research interests are in product design and healthcare operations. He has served on the editorial boards of INFOR, MS&OM and Decision Sciences. He has co-edited (with Tim Lowe) the book titled, “Building Intuition: Insights from Basic Operations Management Models and Principles.” Professor Chhajed’s research as been published in Management Science, Operations Research, Decision Sciences, Production and Operations Management, PLoS ONE, IIE Transactions, International Journal of Research in Marketing, ORSA Journal on Computing, Journal of Operations Management, European Journal of Operational Research, Omega, and others.
