Peter Kelle is the Ourso Family Distinguished Professor of Decision Analysis at the E.J. Ourso College of Business, Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, USA. He was the American Editor of the International Journal of Production Economics between 2000 and 2022. During this time, there was a major improvement in the impact factor and ranking of the journal. IJPE’s 2-year impact factor increased from 5.134 to 7.885 in the last year and the 5-year impact factor to 9.003. This makes the journal #3 in the category of Operations Research/Management Science and #5 in both, Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering. So the impact factor did not only increase in absolute terms but also relative to other journals in the categories the journal is listed in.

Dr. Kelle shared his editorial experiences in conference and seminar presentations. His recent research interests include disaster supply chain management, inventory control in healthcare systems, and sustainable supply chains. He has been working on several research grants, lately with the US Dept. of Homeland Security in disaster supply chain management area and with the US Dept. of Transportation on safety improvement and optimization.
