The significant role of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in everyday life could change concepts about skills, education and learning. The changing definitions about necessary ICT skills (from digital fluency to computational thinking) shows that they are more about thinking and expressing yourself, exploring the diversity of computers and yourself, involving external representation of problem solving processes, and reflecting on your own thinking – and even to think about thinking itself.

The Bebras challenge promotes problem solving skills and Informatics concepts including the ability to break down complex tasks into simpler components, algorithm design, pattern recognition, pattern generalisation and abstraction.

The Bebras International Task Workshops, where experts from all Bebras countries meet to discuss and prepare tasks, is crucial to the success of the Bebras initiative.

The main goal of the Bebras Task Workshops is to bring together informatics experts from all Bebras countries for discussion and preparation of the tasks.

Usually a day or half-day symposium for local teachers and researchers is part of the workshops. Beside the main aim – developing the Bebras task pool, specific goals are in the workshop in 2019 to

• show local teachers and researchers (not only from Hungary, but from countries in east and central Europe) the importance and possibilities of changing Computer Science in schools and in education;
• enhance the main concept and discuss the main goals and aims with the informatics experts from Bebras countries;
• give support and discuss-facilities for new countries.

The workshop will be held in Balatonkenese – accommodation and workshop in one place.
