Genomics of Nitrogen-Fixing Organisms

At the 4th European Nitrogen Fixation Conference in Sevilla, in 2000, a small workshop was held before the main conference to discuss the genome of Sinorhizobium meliloti and studies based on the emerging sequence. Since then, a workshop on genomics has been a well-attended feature of every ENFC. The scope has broadened to cover many different organisms, but with a focus on the nitrogen-fixing microbes themselves rather than their symbiotic partners. We include not just studies of the genome sequences, but all the “genome-enabled” science that flows from this knowledge: transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics etc.

Highlights of these topics will be covered in the main conference, but there are many laboratories that will not have the chance to present a lecture on their research. The workshop will provide a more extended opportunity for us to hear from all the groups who are doing relevant work. We are happy to include presentations from group leaders, from postdocs or from graduate students.

All participants, whether speaking or not, need to pay the separate registration fee for this workshop.

Registration is available in the main database of the ENFC conference.

After the final registration you will be able to select this option in the “Optional menu”.

Normal registration fee: 50 EUR
Student registration fee: 35 EUR

 The registration fees include:

  • coffee break – August 25, 2016
  • lunch – August 25, 2016
